Arsene Wenger is eying the signing of an experienced centre-forward to replace Alexis Sanchez according to rumours.
The Arsenal manager has seen his side rely heavily on Sanchez for goals this season with Olivier Giroud and Danny Welbeck failing to keep hold of a regular place in the starting eleven.
But due to the Chilean superstar’s reluctance to extend his contract at the Emirates stadium, the Gunners are at risk of being significantly weakened upfront.
As a result, Wenger, who was unsuccessful in an attempt to sign Leicester City striker Jamie Vardy last summer, is now pursuing the addition of Hulk.
According to Don Balon , Arsenal have identified the Brazilian international as a potential replacement for the unsettled Sanchez with an offer being prepared.
Hulk, who is currently pocketing a whopping £320,000-a-week in wages at Shanghai SIPG, admitted only last week that he is an admirer of the Gunners.
“It’s always been a dream, it’s a very competitive championship and the stadiums are full in every game, no matter what the team, I always follow the league and I have always supported Arsenal,” he said, as quoted by Metro
“[I’m a fan of] Wenger’s way of playing, but unfortunately he has not won trophies in recent years.”
