Arsenal transfer news and rumours: Gunners and Man United keeping eye on Real Madrid star?

James Rodriguez shouts

James Rodriguez is being closely monitored - but is unlikely to leave

Arsenal are one of three clubs keeping a close eye on James Rodriguez's Real Madrid future - but the Colombian is unlikely to leave, AS report .
The 24-year-old has had a challenging second season at the Bernabeu after his £60million move in 2014.
The Gunners, Manchester City and Man United are all thought to be keeping tabs on his situation ahead of this summer's transfer window.
But Real Madrid president Florentino Perez aims to keep the playmaker and will not sell at any price.

Arsene Wenger insists NO TALKS over a new Arsenal deal until the end of NEXT SEASON

Arsene Wenger: No talks until the end of next season

Arsene Wenger has insisted he will not even discuss a new contract until the end of next season, reports Neil McLeman .
And the Frenchman claimed he has yet to decide whether he wants to further extend his 20-year stay in London – and whether such a decision would be the best one for Arsenal.
The Gunners boss, who is about to enter the last 12 months of a three-year deal, angrily denied the club want him to sign a new contract at the start of the next season.
With Arsenal set to finish below Tottenham for the first time during his reign, a minority of the Emirates crowd staged a Time for Change protest during the club’s last home game against Norwich.
And Wenger, 66, is not yet willing to commit his future beyond the summer of 2017.
“I will wait very late, yes,” he said. “Does that mean no talks with the club next season? Exactly.
“It’s not about me, it’s about the club. My role is just to serve the club as well as I can and after see where I stand and where the club is.
“I have to forget about myself even if people who want to create unrest won’t. I will continue to give my absolute best to do well next season and then after that, we’ll see. Have I decided what I will do privately? No.
“I extended my contract in a period that was vital for the club and after that I will see where I am personally and where the club stands at the end of my contract.”
The Arsenal manager remains convinced of his continuing success after ensuring qualifying for a 19th consecutive season of Champions League football.
He has admitted his “hurt” at the virulence of criticism from frustrated fans but the planned fan protest for the Norwich game turned into a rally of support. Yet he wants next season to determine his future.
“My appetite is stronger than ever. I believe I am a professional man who respects his contract and stays until the end, whether it is one year or two years or three years – that doesn’t change. Even if I decide in January that I will not extend my contract, that will not affect my attitude.”

Manchester City have struggled since the announcement of Manuel Pellegrini’s departure in February. And Wenger admitted: “It can affect them (the players), yes. But the players are like me – they are professional. You have not, before the season starts already, to look for excuses.”
Wenger signed his current three-year deal after winning the 2014 FA Cup. But he has admitted his “hurt” at fan protests - and said their as well as results would play in his decision. “What you want is for your supporters to be happy,” he said. “That is why you work very hard.”

So that's that - La Liga decided by a Louis Suarez hat-trick. 14 goals in five games a staggering goal tally when you consider they've taken the title by just one point.
