Liverpool vs Bayern Munich: Kingsley Coman given all clear for Champions League clash after injury scare

Kingsley Coman has been given the all-clear for Bayern Munich's Champions League clash with Liverpool on Tuesday despite limping out of their 3-2 win at Augsburg.

Coman scored twice to bring his side back from behind before David Alaba scored a second-half winner which helped Bayern reduce the gap to Bundesliga leaders Borussia Dortmund to two points.
But Coman suffered an apparent recurrence of a left ankle injury deep into injury time, which forced him to hobble from the field.

Bayern coach Niko Kovac was initially fearful suggesting the knock "did not look that good".

The Frenchman has already undergone two operations on the ankle, the first of which ruled him out of last year's World Cup and the second after a recurrence on the opening day of the current season.

But a club statement on Saturday morning revealed that after "in-depth" investigations following the game the 22-year-old will be available for selection at Anfield.
Kovac, who admitted Coman gave his side a "a different dimension", admitted too many of his players may have had the Liverpool game on their mind as they conceded the opening goal after just 14 seconds.

"We struggled to get into the game," added Kovac on his club's official website. "I can't remember conceding a goal so early and that was very annoying.

"It was more clear-cut in the second half. Taken altogether it was a workmanlike, but deserved, victory. Maybe some of us had Liverpool on their minds - it's not good but it's human."
