Barcelona are reportedly open to allowing veteran star Arturo Vidal to leave and inter milan are intersted in him

Barcelona are reportedly open to allowing Arturo Vidal and Inter Milan are interested in a move

Barcelona are reportedly open to allowing Arturo Vidal to leave this summer - and Inter Milan may rekindle their interest in the experienced Chilean midfielder.

According to Calciomercato, the San Siro giants are believed to have been keen to recruit the 32-year-old on multiple occasions, and were also unsuccessful in an attempted swoop last summer.

But with Vidal eager for more game time, and Barcelona willing to parting ways with the star, Inter are increasingly confident that an £18million deal can be completed when the transfer window re-opens

Negotiations between both parties were unable to reach a conclusion in January due to the change of manager at the Nou Camp, but a summer switch appears likely with Inter keen to offload unwanted players and reduce costs.

Vidal has started just 13 games this campaign for Barcelona and, despite scoring six goals in LaLiga, the Catalan giants may be tempted to let him secure a move to Italy.

The former Juventus star's agent Fernando Felicevich is thought to be eager to facilitate a transfer at the end of the campaign.

Discussions may be relatively simple with Inter having also signed Alexis Sanchez, another of Felicevich's clients, on loan from Manchester United.

The same report states that Vidal has expressed a firm interest in featuring under Antonio Conte in the Italian top tier, which has rendered the transfer a certainty since the aborted winter move.

The ex-Chelsea coach is hopeful of recruiting Vidal in order to introduce another player with a proven track record of clinching silverware into the Serie A title chasers' squad.

And the potential switch may be linked with Barcelona's chase for Inter frontman Lautaro Martinez. Negotiators from both clubs are set to meet again at the end of the season to renew discussions over the highly-rated Argentine, and Vidal's future could also be decided then.

Barcelona are looking to axe several first-team stars to reduce their exorbitant wage bill and, according to a report from Corriere dello Sport, could offload Vidal, Arthur, Jean-Clair Tobido, Carles Alena and Nelson Semedo in a deal for Martinez.
