Celtic set to tear up Scott Allen’s contract

Celtic may look to wave goodbye to one of their forgotten men at Celtic Park imminently.

The Glasgow Evening Times are claiming Scott Allen will have his contract torn up by the Bhoys.

The 27-year-old has not featured for Brendan Rodgers’ side this season and has not been included in a matchday squad since their Champions League qualifier against Rosenborg.

In fact, the midfielder has made just 13 appearances for the Hoops since joining them at Celtic Park back in 2015.
Having been kept at the club following a loan spell from Hibernian, Allen would have hoped that he would have seen some action in the first-team.

However, it appears that he could be about to return to the Edinburgh outfit as they are claimed to be favourites to sign him.

Allen has become a forgotten figure at Celtic and it makes complete sense for the Scottish Premiership champions to offload him.

The 27-year-old clearly has no future at Celtic Park and would find it difficult to compete for a place in the first-team, even with the number of injuries the club currently have.

Given that he has not even featured in the matchday squad since their Champions League qualifying campaign, the decision to tear his contract up comes as no surprise.

Celtic fans – thoughts?
