Tennis: Rafael Nadal set to open new tennis center in Mexico

On Tuesday Rafael Nadal announced that in November he will open an academy in a tourism complex in Cancun, Mexico, which will be connected to his academy in Manacor. 'It's our first expansion outside Manacor and for all of us and for me it's a reason to be satisfied and proud', said Nadal referring to the project that will feature eight tennis courts, a padel court, gym and museum.
Nadal also admits that he feels a "big personal satisfaction" for the goals they achieved so far. 'We did an important work, but as I always say, everything can be improved. It's not easy to manage the life of 120 young guys who trusts us to improve not only their tennis level but also personally, studying and being supported by families to who we need to give deserved answers for the job we are doing.' The Academy director, Toni Nadal, also shared his happiness for the big amount of activities done over the last two years and he admitted that there is a lot of "dedication and work" behind it.

Nadal played his last match in September at the US Open when he retired down two sets to love against Juan Martin del Potro. He is still committed to play the Rolex Paris Masters and then the ATP Finals in London, but his appearance in both tournaments is still in doubt.

The 32-year-old definitely has a special feeling towards Mexico, as he regularly plays in Acapulco. Earlier this year he withdrew but in 2018 he is set to be the main star again with Alexander Zverev, Stan Wawrinka and John Isner.
