SOCCEROO Robbie Kruse was the hero for Bochum with the only goal in his side’s 2.Bundesliga win over Jahn Regensburg, while Jackson Irvine fired in Hull’s 3-2 win.
Kruse scored his fourth goal of the season in the seventh minute to earn Bochum their sixth win in a row to take them up to eighth on the ladder.
Meanwhile, Irvine was on the scoresheet as Nigel Adkins started his reign as Hull City manager with a Championship victory over Brentford.
After the visitors went ahead though David Meyler’s own goal in the 47th minute, Hull responded with a crisp drive from Kamil Grosicki.
Sebastian Larsson then struck a superb 30-yard free-kick before Irvine slotted home.
John Egan set up a nervy finish with three minutes remaining but Hull held on to bolster their survival hopes following the departure of Leonid Slutsky.
