ARSENAL FC
The Gunners are in the midst of a defensive injury crisis, with Gabriel ($500k) picking up an ankle injury in the club’s pre-season friendly against Manchester City. Add that to German defender Per Mertesacker’s ($500k) knee injury sustained in the friendly against Lens, and it hasn’t been a happy pre-season for Arsenal. The injuries leave only Calum Chambers ($450k) and Rob Holding ($450k) as the club’s fit senior centre backs, with Laurent Koscielny ($600k) not yet back in full training following Euro 2016.
Additionally, midfielder Jack Wilshere ($600k) has picked up a “slight patella problem” but Wenger is not yet sure if it will keep the injury-prone England midfielder out of the Premier League opener against Liverpool.
Other long term injuries at the Gunners are Danny Welback ($750k), who is still suffering from a knee injury picked up towards the end of last season, and Carl Jenkinson ($500k), who injured his knee while spending the last campaign on loan at West Ham.
